The 2.91 FTC (Flip-to-Center) brings any magnifier to the 2.91" height to pair with GBRS Group Hydra Mounting Systems. A higher optic allows for a more athletic “Heads-up” posture that enables faster target ID, regardless of gear/ equipment obstructions.

Streamlined and Fluid
I'm a taller man (6'5") and I came from running an ACOG with a piggyback T-2 style red dot on my rifle. I’ve found the 2.91" height of the GBRS mount to be fantastic for me. It has given me almost the same height over bore that I had running a red dot on top of my ACOG, so my posture has improved greatly. It also gives me the added comfort of not needing to drop my head down to utilize magnification, unlike the ACOG/red dot setup. Streamlined and fluid transitions from 1x to my 5x magnifier. Not too tall for prone shooting either. If you think 2.91” is too tall just look at photos of Delta Force’s carbines from the 90s. This 2.91 mounting system is nothing new, it’s just a more streamlined and purpose-built design for today’s times.
Excellent ShopArticlesAnd customer service
I'm on my department's SWAT Team (part-time team). We do not run with night vision and do not use any type of PEQ's. Thus, I never had a need to buy the Hydra V2 mount (even though I wanted to). I purchased the Lerna Mount for my Eotech HWS XPS2 and the 2.91 FTX Magnifier Mount for my Eotech G43. Both mounts were easy to install, QR code guide answers any questions you might have. Looks great and works even better.
Shooting from a higher mounted optic has taken a little bit to get accustomed to, but I'll be damned if a couple of Navy Seals didn't know exactly what they were talking about. My situational awareness/peripheral vision is much better, I can actually look around and get back on my sight much easier, if I need to. The adjustment in my shooting posture feels much more relaxed and natural. It is much more comfortable and easier to acquire my sight with my gas mask on as well. Even my arch nemesis, shooting on the move, seems easier and more accurate now.
I run the magnifier mount right up next to the Lerna mount. The magnifier's quick remove lever fits snug and out of the way along the side of the Lerna mount, a neat piece of design engineering that shows how well thought through and put together the system is.
FYI you might as well buy some of the reusable fabric tape while getting the Lerna and Magnifier mount. It has come in handy more times than I can count.
