Like I said, these shorts are better than Ten Thousand, and definitely better than Lulu. I enjoy those products in a handful of ways, but these shorts do outperform them in a few ways.
I'm 5'7" 244 lbs as of today and built like a tree stump. I have maybe a dozen of the Ten thousand tactical shorts in XL with liners that I enjoy, kinda. The TT shorts have handy zippered pockets but they rub against my leg so they're not exactly the best to lounge and sleep in and the laces are durable but also thick so when I tie them around my waist they press in and it's annoying, but it doesn't irritate the skin but I am relieved when I can untie them.
The set shorts are lighter and for warmer days it's abolsutly perfect to wear on field, gym, or mobility session. The laces don't bulge in at all when you orient them toward the body, I prefer laces in because showing your short laces feel like have your fly down, but that's just me.
I digress, these shorts are plenty mobile; I have no problem rolling on the ground, mobility work, shinbox rotations are not a problem, front/back squats, olympic lifts, hand-stands, back-flips, box-jumps, burpees, etc. I don't have to do that weird pulling-up-up-of-the-shorts before any work. They also don't pinch your ball-sack during stretches or lunging poses, which is nice because some shorts I'll just completely turn away from the group.
The length is perfect for my legs, they're short enough to allow nice amount of air flow and show off my tactical quads and hamstrings from Vern; and they're long enough they don't ride into my crotch and disappear into my shirt. It really is designed well and thought out. I do wish they had more colors available and hope they maybe come with a couple more models.
I would also like to recommend that this pairs really well with Ten Thousands short liners, its awesome pairing. Anyways, if you have thicker thighs and need lighter shorts for the hot environments these is your go to short.
Fabric moves easily and lightly on deep movements; have 2 pairs and fit is consistent. Go-to were Nike running shorts, 4 pairs, and the sizing was a little off for all—which sucks. Also, waistband on these are aces. Never took into account the band but they keep the shorts placed. Will buy more for sure.
